Since the launch of the Beverly Hills website the singular most common question (aside from "when are we getting speed bumps") has been about the BHCA number:
"What's this BHCA number thingie?"
"What do I do with the BHCA number I was assigned?"
"How was I assigned the number I have?"
"Can I change this BHCA number? I don't like the numbers I was given"
So let's take things one question at a time...
WHAT IS THE BHCA Number?
The BHCA number is not personal. Its assigned to your address. Anyone who lives at that address; spouse, children, tenants - will all have the same BHCA number assigned to them when they register on the website. This is why its important to indicated whether you live in a particular townhouse or apartment at a street address - this will ensure you get a unique BHCA# from others at the same street address.
Your BHCA# is always displayed at the top of the website page.
HOW IS THE BHCA# ASSIGNED?
When you register on the website, in the background the website checks to see if your address has already been registered. If not, a BHCA# is generated and assigned to you AND your address.
Let's say you've registered, and your spouse, child or tenant registers on the website. It will check and see that the address has already been registered. so the spouse/child/tenant will be assigned the SAME BHCA#
Even with the same BHCA#, they will still log in under their own email and password. They will have their own individual profiles, can join any groups they choose to, post their own pictures to the gallery. From the perspective of the website, they are completely separate individuals, with all the privacy privileges thereof.
CAN I CHANGE MY BCHA#?
No you cannot. Remember, the BHCA# is assigned to the PROPERTY. If you move from Beverly Hills, you will be removed from the database, but the BHCA# stays with that property, to be assigned to whomever moves into that address and registers on the website.
WHY IS THE BHCA# ASSIGNED TO MY ADDRESS AND NOT ME?
The Association tracks dues by property, not by individual.
Individuals are of course responsible for payment, but the PROPERTY is current or overdue. It doesn't matter who or how many people live there.
So, for a single home - your dues might be $4,000 a year. For an apartment complex, it's $4,000 per apartment. Each single home, apartment or townhouse gets its own BHCA# and therefore, its own dues
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY BHCA#?
Absolutely nothing. The Association, however, will use it to:
Print BHCA cards so you can benefit from vendor discounts and event admission. One card is included with your dues, but you can purchase additional cards for residents at the same address.
Along with your street address, target alerts or promotional communications to specific areas of our community.
Let you know your dues status - no more guessing. You'll see your current status and balance on your profile page. Anyone at that address will see that same balance on their profile pages..
Your BHCA# is an address tag, nothing more. It is not tied to any banking or personal info aside from your address, and no one - member or not - can see your BHCA#
I hope this clarifies the raison d'être of the BHCA#. Still have questions, feel free to post comments below...
